Chinchilla Care question by : How does math involve taking care of a small pet? (mouse, chinchilla, rabbit, etc)?
I am doing a project for math and was wondering if any of you guys have any ideas of how math involves taking care of small animals. ANY answers help!

Linear Programming!
You can look it up on google, but I can also give you my best interpretation of it.
For example:
You have a rabbit. It can eat two types of food: carrots and dandelion leaves. Each carrot costs $ 1 , and each bunch of dandelion leaves costs $ 1.50. Now, you can’t feed your rabbit more than 6 pieces of food a day. Also, your rabbit can’t eat more than 3 carrot or it upsets it’s stomach.
So what combination of food can you buy for the least amount of money?

X= carrot
Y= dandelion

X>0
Y>0
y+x<6
X<3

You then plug all of these equations into a graph, find the points where the lines intersect, and use this equation 1(x)+1.50(y) and you can find what points (carrots and dandelion leaves) have the minimum value.

Pet Ferrets question by : What smells worse: pet ferrets or mice?
Hi, I have pet mice and they really really stink, however much i clean the cage out they stink! There actually being sold soon because i’ve got quite a lot of baby mice nearly weaned fully to go.

But i was looking to buy 2 pet ferrets? How bad do they smell, because my mice tend to smell so bad that it’s gag worthy!

Also do ferrets poop n pee on you like my mice do? My mice are so gross they will walk and poop all over me =(

ferrets do have their own special smell that tends to cling to anything they touch but the fun you get out of them makes it so worth it. most pet shops sell deodorant shampoos for them and this helps a lot. ferrets can also be easily litter trained not to mention trained to walk on a harness outside.

A TERRIBLE IDEA! chinchillas are the hardest pet to take care of, and are easy to die if not properly taken care of. chinchillas are very very very hard to keep healthy. they have a lot of health issues. the best first pet for you if you want a rodent. is a hamster. the best kind is a dwarf Campbell. NO ROBO’S they are the worst. Big hamsters like teddy bears are okay? and original.I have 6 dwarf hamsters and they are the best! they are so friendly! keep it in mind!

I just got a pet chinchilla for my birthday. I have read on the internet about how to care for them properly and there are sooo many different opinions. For example, a salt and mineral wheel- one site says yes and one site says no. Chinchillas seem to be rather sensitive to things in their diet and environment so I need to know the real story. What things are definite no–no’s? Oh yeah, he’s a male and I need name suggestions, too. Thanks!
