Fish And Aquatics question by Jess Rae: I’m thinking of getting a fishtank but need to know about the fish that can go into it.?
Alright so i’m getting a 10 gallon fish tank and want to put 2 dwarf gourami in with 5 black skirt tetra. I only have a few days to decide this so i want to know if anyone sees anything wrong with this.
I also work in a petstore but the guy whose been telling me things about aquatics is a hebitual liar so I have no clue as to what he said was true or not….

Answer by Petcetera Habitual liars in pet shops lead to bad news! In this case, though, those fish will be fine in a 10 gallon tank provided it has a heater, filter, and the other basic requirements you need for tetras.
It’s worth mentioning that the dwarf gouramis may be territorially aggressive towards your black skirts, so you’ll want to have lots of places that the gouramis can claim as their home and not dominate the entire tank, or where the tetras can swim behind to escape a chase. I’d suggest some bushy live plants (cabomba or pennywort) and a central decoration that the fish can swim through or inside for an ideal tank composition. I hope that helps you out some, and best of luck with your tank! I would also try and cycle your tank ahead of time so those more delicate fish don’t have to ride out the stressful first few weeks under less than ideal conditions. Cheers,

Diving with Truth Aquatics on the Vision on a trip organized by Eugene Skin Diver Supply, we had a neat encounter with Giant Black Sea Bass (Stereolepis gigas) at Sea Fan Grotto on Catalina Island. This large fish not only allowed several divers at once to observe it at relatively close range, it also followed us after we finished filming and swam off to explore other parts of this dive site. Giant Black Sea Bass are a protected species. Once abundant along the California coast, they suffered from overfishing. Large individuals can weigh up to 800 pounds. i was at the aquatics center and i saw a coldwater animal fish thingy, not exactly a fish, ive google imaged and cant find anything.. it was definately in the cold water section and their was a sticker on the tank which advised not suitable with fish.
does anyone have any idea what it could be???

Cats question by : How would I introduce a new cat to my current cats that would be younger than the new cat?
My question is basically this : I have two young cats. I would like to adopt a cat that is older than my current cats by one year. All questions about cat introductions that I found here have asked how to introduce a new kitten to an older cat that the person already owns, but never adding an older cat to a young cat household. How would that effect the peking order in the house?
